GARF'S BALI XENIA
LEROY@GARF.ORG

In all of our projects for farming with corals plants and fish we use a method called polyculture. Polyculture is the way to grow products using the same space with different parts of the habitat.

In the fresh water side of our greenhouses I use the water that I drain from the fish tanks into the plants and orchids to fertilize them. Water from the orchids is used to fertilize the plants in the ponds, so the water is used three different times.

These are Ricordia florida that we grow with our Xenia. They both thrive in tanks with medium lighting.

We are proud to report that this journey has a positive result leaving us with several generations of Baby Bali Xenia. It continues to be our goal to share our research with all who read our books. At the time I was wearing out each new camera LeRoy bought for me; I had no idea how important the day by day photo documents would be over the years. The subject of these photos is the Bali Xenia, my most beloved animal. It is a true challenge, and it is a must have for any hobbyist.
