THESE TWO PICTURES SHOW DETAILS OF THE NEWEST BULLET PROOF REEF. THIS AQUARIUM HAS TWO MAXI-JET 1000 POWER HEADS AND A HEATER. IT IS LIT BY FOUR 4 FOOT VHO LIGHTS. WE DO NOT HAVE A SKIMMER ON THIS REEF.

THE ARAGOCRETETM IN THIS REEF AQUARIUM WAS MADE HERE IN BOISE AND THEN IT WAS SENT TO JERRY HESLINGA IN KONA HAWAII FOR SIX MONTHS. THIS GREAT NEW 55 GALLON REEF AQUARIUM HAS NO PLENUM AND IT DOES HAVE ABOUT 2 INCHES OF GARF GRUNGE AND ARAGONITE GRAVEL.

THIS REEF HAS 40 + TYPES OF SPS CORLS AND 4 SPECIES OF XENIA. ALL OF THE ANIMALS IN THIS REEF WERE GROWN IN BOISE.

These two pictures were taken two days apart and you can see the new cuttings we added from the 150 gallon reef in LeRoy's office.

THE SOCKET ROCK IN THE LOWER RIGHT CORNER OF THE REEF AQUARIUM WAS GROWN IN THE GARF LAB. NOTE THE SPS FRAGS THAT WERE GLUED TO THE ROCK. ONE OF THE FRAGS IS MOUNTED ON A CORAL EGG THAT FITS IN THE SOCKET.

We will post pictures of this during the next year so you will be able to see how the KONA REEF does with so little equipment. THE ROCK CAME BACK FROM THE CLAM FARM WITH A VERY SMALL SLOW GROWING GREEN MACRO ALGAE. We have added a few Bubble Algae eating Emerald crabs to this reef and we added the Reef JanitorsTM , but that goes without saying, we use them in all of our reefs. :)
