THESE ARE SOME OF THE PICTURES WE TOOK OF FRIAR TOM WALSH'S REEF AQUARIUMS. Sally Jo is writing about these reefs for the February issue of Reef Aquarium Farming News, but so many people want to see more now. I posted this preview early so you can see what can be done in 20 gallon aquariums with normal aquarium lights. The Gorgonian in the middle of this tank adds a great deal to the look of this aquariums land scape. Sally Jo uses this same Gorgonian in her reefs because it remains small. We love this Ricordia, and now you can purchase ones that are grown in reefs. This is the best use of green stars I have ever seen! This shows what can be done by using small captive grown cuttings. Notice how many species can be kept in a small reef when you take the time to move them if they start to touch. I have watched sally jo do do this for hours while she is making cuttings. I am certain that Tom gets as much enjoyment from gardening these wonderful Bonsai reefs as Sally does from hers.
