This is a view of my youngest tank. It just turned two years old on Valentines Day. This system houses over 150 different types of coral. The majority of the corals are soft, and I also have nine fish. I have decided to keep this system the true bulletproof reef system. I have not upgraded the lighting to VHO because I am so pleased with how the reef is growing. The lighting is three 40-watt bulbs; two white actinic and one blue actinic. I change the lights on a six-month basis. To read further about this tank please follow my articles on Zero impact reef keeping shared in our on line newsletters.

This is another view of my youngest tank. What is amazing to see in this tank is the little disk corals (Fungia) that have multiplied. They were no bigger than a snail egg when I found them on several pieces of dead Fungia skeletons that had some mushrooms on them. I couldn't really tell what they were, but I hid them in my hand and went running into my office and placed it in the tank. When the animal was big enough to cut, I gave LeRoy the first one. The Acropora in this picture is one of the new ones from the new farm in Vanuatu.

This picture is to prove that GARF really does have fish in all its tanks. My challenge each day is to try and not get the fish in the pictures. They have become clowns with the camera and look at me like they are starving. They have learned how to get my attention and can recognize the flake food can as soon as I come in the room. This little guy is in LeRoy's 135 allon reef tank. I think he deserves a few votes :)

This is a picture of LeRoy's new research tank. He is learning to grow and propagate these incredibly colorful predatory corals. These animals are not for the faint of heart and they certainly need a great deal of feeding and other attention. LeRoy has begun to culture his own zooplankton and green water to feed these delicate animals. We will be publishing many new articles about these corals. This tank is one of my favorites to photograph because the colors are so vivid.

This is a different predatory tank that LeRoy set up about three months ago. It seems "one tank is simply not enough." This really rings true when LeRoy sets his mind to doing something. I was walking by the tank one day and I noticed more new animals in the tank. I looked at him and asked him, how many of these animals are you getting for this tank? His answer was that he needed them for his research. I turned to him and asked what it your research to see how many kinds you can get? It is amazing how fast these Scleranephthea multiply, and when their polyps are extended they are indeed breathtaking. I have also had a great deal of fun looking at the rock that these animal come in on. They have all types of little creatures I never get to see in all my tanks because they come from dark areas.

This picture is of my oldest tank. She just had her fifth year birthday. She has become my sps coral forest. One thing that I love to do is play in my tanks. I love to arrange the animals in different places either highlighting them for a picture or moving them to a new location to give them extra attention. You can see the amount of water flow I am using. I have six power heads in this tank and I change the direction of the water flow through out the week. The green Montipora was no bigger than 1/4 inch and only recently has he caught the eye of others. However, he's had mine all along. I have propagated him a couple of times and LeRoy has some pieces in his tanks. In ending I think it is safe for me to say that I will continue to play with my jewels in my sps coral forest while LeRoy is found playing in his predatory tanks:) Until next month please enjoy the pictures.

Subject: THANKS FOR EVERYTHING

Hello Leroy,
I just had to write you to thank you for everything that you and your staff have done to help me create such a beautiful reef tank. Let me start by saying that I would never have done business with any internet company in the past. I am very careful about how my money is spent. YOUR BEAUTIFUL PICTURES ON THE WEB SITE CONVINCED ME TO GIVE YOU A TRY. BOY AM I GLAD I DID!

I started out by purchasing some garf grunge and reef janitors. The janitors have completely cleaned my tank and are busy working every day. I had an algae bloom that I could not control, and now, in only a few weeks, it is not only gone, but the tank is spotless!

The grunge is the most beautiful substrate I have ever seen! I have found numerous little corals and sponges growing in my tank, and I am experiencing a coraline algae bloom much faster than thought possible. Also, every experienced reef keeper that has seen my tank wants to know what the heck is that? Being used to seeing plain sand or crushed coral, they are delighted and mystified by the beauty! It has also added a level of stability and overall health to my tank that is amazing!

Next, as you know, I have ordered a few shipments of corals from you. I can't believe how fast they grow, and how beautiful they are! This is of course in addition to the rare species that you offer. Never in a million years could I have found the rare and different corals you have sent me. The pet shop, or reef "experts" would never have most of these beautiful rarities!

As a matter of fact, my local coral supplier has seen my tank and he cannot believe his eyes! He has told me that with over thirty years in the reef aquarium business, never has he seen such a beautiful tank! The "show" tank in his store is very pale by comparison!

I have told him that thanks to some real professionals in Idaho, this type of tank could be a reality for anyone! I am sure he will order from you soon, as he is most jealous of my aquarium, and has to have some for his own!

I will send you some pictures very soon. I am sure that you will agree, this is truly a beautiful, healthy, thriving, 90 gallon reef aquarium. I owe most of it to you and your staff!

From grunge, janitors, magic reef dust, and your help in recommending food and additives, everything I followed from what you have suggested has helped my tank achieve more goals than I ever expected! THANKS AGAIN FOR EVERYTHING! I CANNOT WAIT TO RECEIVE MY NEXT ORDER, VERY SOON!
