There are two images on this page, and you can use the larger image for a new desktop wallpaper. These images are from a new slide show on Montipora propagation that we will be posting this week .
This is a beautiful combination that happened by accident in the 55 gallon reef tank that we set up for Montipora. This combination of corals was separated and propagated the day after this picture was taken.
The pink Montipora in the center of this picture is a wonderful bright colored coral that came from the new coral farm in East Timor. The Orange Montipora with pink tips is a Montipora digitata that was given to us six years ago by Mike Paletta. The multicolored Zoanthid is one of the dozens of different types that we have in our collection here at GARF.
I think that this pink Montipora has one of the most dramatic surface patterns, and it grows into a beautiful bowl shaped colony. We are always amazed when we discover how close together some corals can live without any damage being done to either one.
