|This pretty little Montipora is a very rapid grower, and it turns a beautiful bluish green with a pink edge after it has been in a tank for a while. This coral is growing on a reef plug. When this coral reaches this size it is very easy to trim all of the new growth that hangs over the top of the reef plug. In the center of the coral you can still see the original fragment that was glued to the reef plug when this coral was started.
This coral can be cut with a sharp pair of stainless steel scissors, and it will produce at least twelve small fragments that will make new plugs. Each of these fragments will produce a coral like this in approximately four months, so you can see how brood stock can be produced using this method.
The small Acropora in the lower right corner is Sally Jo's Bonsai Acropora of course, and there is a small blue Acropora above the Montipora.

Sometimes I forget how fun it can be to watch the Reef Janitorstm as they go about their duties. It is important to have the mixture of crabs and snails custom picked for your reef aquarium. Both Leonel and Brian are experts in algae control. You can be sure that they will choose the right mixture from GARF's extensive collection of algae eaters.
The GARF staff knows that each aquarium is different and they will ask about the size, lighting, and age of your reef. Summer is the most important time to add extra janitorstm because there is more light and the reef will be a bit warmer. When you order any Reef Janitor pactm you can pick a free coral or two pounds of GARF's FAMOUS GRUNGE LIVE SAND ACTIVATOR Reef Janitors tm or call toll free 800-600-6163.
