Australian Duncanopsammia - duncans

This coral grows the best when the water is flowing past it in a laminar, steady nonturbulent stream. The flow from the Seio prop super flow pump 530 is about one foot per second when the pump is one foot from the Duncanopsammia colony. When we are feeding we redirect the flow away from the coral so that the flow decreases to about one foot in two seconds. I finally found a use for the stop watch in my new iphone :) Make a mark on the glass at one foot from the colony, and time the flakes and shrimp as they move past. The only probem is the fish seem to pick and eat the same flake I am watching.

A great magnet mount support system makes mounting of the pump quick and easy allowing the pump to be secured virtually anywhere in the aquarium.
The Magnet Mount on this pump makes it easy to redirect the flow away from the coral from outside the reef. This does not disturb the corals as much as reaching into the tank while you are feeding your corals.
The 160 degree directional discharge enables the pump to be directed and secured at different angles.

The prop impeller creates high water volume output with low pressure making the pump energy efficient with low heat emissions. This is very important with Summer coming. The prop impeller does not chop the food up as it passes. Duncanopsammia colonies can trap flake food from the flow, and they can catch large flakes very well.
