Australian Duncanopsammia - duncans

Duncanopsammia thrive in reefs with a bit of nutrient in the water, so we keep them in systems with corals that grow best when they are fed. These reefs have many sponges and macro algae. These tanks are full of Zoanthids and Pallythoa.

We have found some great VHO T6 IV PL power compact fixtures that provide light for balanced growth of both SPS and all other corals. These easy to move high performance full spectrum lamps deliver more micromoles of photons flux per square meter than standard aquarium lamps
These lights have a strong water resistant fixture with a compact design that is easy to move. I put one on a growout tank during the day, and then I move it down to the frag tank for the night.
To insure the proper color temperature bulb for your grow out system choose Hyper grow (blue and white) light combo.

These tank systems are full of thriving salt water fish, corals, and we get twice the tank space for no more lighting money. These T6 bulbs are designed specifically for corals. Some corals like snake polyps feed only in dark, but the lights on the lower tanks give us enough light to see what we are doing in the top tanks.

As you may have seen we almost never supply web site information on garf.org, but this light is so much better than anything we have used you should check it out.

We have found that Duncanopsammia make great hosts for several types of Clownfish.

In a few days the coral does not seem to be upset by the fish,
but it does eat any food the fish bring to hide in its polyps.
