GARF'S SUMMER REEFS = bubbles and sun

This filter plate will be covered with 24 inches of gravel. The top 12 inches of water will be kept cool by the extra water in the system. The open water is in full sun for most of the day. We will plant Zoanthids and other corals in this top 12 inches of reef water.

Each tank will also be cooled by 300 feet of one inch plastic pipe that is buried under the lower tank. The coil of pipe is one foot below the bottom of the tank, and it is covered with wet soil. The ground temp in Boise at four feet deep is 58 degrees. We have one inch PVC that feeds and drains the buried pipe, but we have not needed to use this cooling system yet.
