GARF'S SUMMER REEFS = bubbles and sun
LEROY@GARF.ORG

This image shows how we make the filter/plenum strong enough to hold two feet of gravel. The frame is made from one inch PVC. We use four elbows and four tees. The center pipes are cut to allow water to flow through the entire filter. We use a 3/4 inch pipe that is slotted on the table saw for the intake water. You can see the intake pipe in the images above.

We use an elbow to attach the uplift pipe. This pipe fits the intake and screen on the powerhead.

We cover both sides of the plate to keep gravel out of the filter. Nylon pull ties work very well to hold the filter together.
