Anyone who has been in the hobby for any length of time knows that color is important to all who sit in front of his or her personal tank for hours. The reds and yellows are the more difficult colors to find or maintain for long periods of time. This picture shows one of our newest additions to the GARF genetic bank.
This animal is related to the famous yellow star polyps and I can just invision the yellow stars mixed in with these incredible red ones. This photo is not color enhanced nor does this photo do justice to this animalšs true beauty. I am proud to report that we are already beginning to propagate this animal, and we are passing her on to individual hobbyist across the USA. We will not have this animal available for sale for long. Since we will have to let it grow back before we cut her again.
She is easy to grow, and she will thrive under conditions found in even the newest stable reef tanks. She loves to be fed (she will even trap flake food for her diet) and she will spread rapidly so that you can plan to share her with others who would love to have some red in their brown reef tank We look forward to your phone calls and even if we run out of available cuttings, you can request to be placed on our waiting list.
The Geothermal Aquaculture Research Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization dependent on sales of quality products and our special Annual Events to support our eduacation programs. These projects sustain our service programs and ongoing research we provide to our Community and the World. We are an Idaho Non Profit Organization dedicated to advancing the knowledge of reef keeping. Our live rock aquaculture research has produced many new techniques for sustaining marine life and propagating corals. We are currently growing many species of sps corals, mushrooms, etc. The Foundation is building a genetic bank in Idaho with collections from around the World. We specialize in reef janitors, and have shared this research with many people who need to control algae in land-based live rock aquaculture tanks.
