Today's date is May 7, 2008. Hello this is LeRoy. Sally Jo is finished having major brain stem surgery this morning. The doctor said it went very well, Thank God!! I am waiting for her to get into her room here at St. Lukes hospital in Boise. We can take her home Saturday. This is one reason it may have been difficult to get in touch with us in the past weeks. As many of you know, Sally Jo has been sick for quite sometime. Your prayers, concern and love have been a blessing to her. Your many letters of support and hope have guided her through many painful, long and challenging days. I would like to thank all of you again for your prayers to help guide the doctors hands to bring Sally Jo back to health, so she can continue to inspire all of us to share the love for the gifts that Mother Nature blesses us with each day. Sally Jo has amazing strength, and she is determined to get back to health so that she can continue to teach all she can reach. I was getting a brown coating (of diatoms, I think) that all of a sudden disappeared yesterday and this morning, and the bed is full of little worms and other crawlies. From:"Joel Weis" Date:2007/01/22 Mon PM 07:19:05 ESTFrom:"Joel Weis" Subject:Janitor Pack saved our tank In March of 2006, I broke down and bought 250 tank janitors for my 125 gallon. Prior to the janitors I had tried stepping up the filtration, and increased water changes, but the green hair algae was out of control. I threw in a lawnmower blenny, sailfin tang, reduced the lighting, and reduced the phosphates. Nothing worked, and I was at the end of the rope. I pulled out half of the algae covered rock, thinking that the reduced surface area would help. At this point nothing worked, and I was ready to break the tank down and quit, Out of desperation, I pulled all but 3 of the remaining rocks out of the tank, and pressure washed them in the driveway, and threw them back in. ( I realize this is not a recommended procedure), I noticed that even that didn't work, as the algae was starting to grow back. My brother recommended a janitor pack, so I bought 250 snails, crabs, etc. It has been 10 months, and the tank has been algae free. I highly recommend to everyone, just buy the janitors first, and save yourself the headache, I did notice the janitors were more successful with the algae that was less than 1/2 inch tall.
