ROCK OF THE WEEK - THIS EDDIE ORIGINAL ARCH SCULPTURE
WILL MAKE A WONDERFUL STEADY BASE FOR YOUR REEF

At GARF, one of my jobs during the summer is to propagate coral brood stock. I'll take a piece of coral that exists only in one tank, propagate it and spread it around to many other tanks. When I saw this rock, I started drooling.

This rock is the kind of base rock I dream of. It is absolutely ideal for gluing corals. Because of the flat surface and the holes in the top of the rock, this rock would make a great long-term grow out home for coral.

The rock weighs twenty pounds, and at five dollars a pound would cost $100. Shipping is free. It is a foot and a half in length, six inches tall and nine inches wide at the widest point.

The flat surfaces on the top and bottom of this rock make it ideal as a base rock; you can pile other rocks around it and on top of it. If you want a sturdy foundation for your tank, you can't do better than this rock. Of course, it would almost be a shame to bury this rock at the bottom of your tank. The interesting caves and crevices on its side would be an excellent focal point for an aquarium.

I can easily envision a design that utilizes this rock as a centerpiece. You could use a shallow tank, and put this rock in the middle. The rock would create a unique environment, especially with a few fish added.

One of my favorite childhood memories is visiting the Scripps Aquarium in California, and seeing the moray eel exhibit that included a huge rock face with many giant moray eels peeking out of caves.

This Aragocrete rock would be perfect for recreating a similar environment on a smaller scale.

As with all Aragocrete sculptures from GARF, it does not need to be cured, it will not damage the wild ocean and it provides an ideal matrix for aquarium life.

We have to sell this rock, but I'm going to get Eddie, our rock sculptor, to make me several rocks like this for my brood stock corals. The first person to call our order line about this rock, 1-800-600-6163, will be able to own it. Call now! Our other Aragocrete rocks have sold out quickly.
