|This slide show will show you part of the GARF Zoanthid collection. While you look at the images I will teach you many of the things that we have learned about this wonderful ornamental coral during the last six years.
This large Zoanthid has the most beautiful orange centers and brilliant green tentacles. This Zoanthids is growing in Sally Jo's oldest reef, and she started it from three polyps that were given to us by a friend. This large colony of Zoanthids shows what you can grow in a short time when you have genetic stock from very fancy colored Zoanthids. This Zoanthid has overgrown a small purple Acropora so Sally Jo will soon remove a group of Zoanthids at the top.
In this picture you can also see two beautiful purple Acroporas in the upper left-hand corner. Several other Acropora are in the middle of the upper portion of this picture, and a beautiful red-haired purple tip Acropora is in the upper right hand corner. In the lower right hand part of this picture you can see a small colony of Xenia.
The Geothermal Aquaculture Research Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization dependent on sales of quality products and our special Annual Events to support our eduacation programs. These projects sustain our service programs and ongoing research we provide to our Community and the World. We are an Idaho Non Profit Organization dedicated to advancing the knowledge of reef keeping. Our live rock aquaculture research has produced many new techniques for sustaining marine life and propagating corals. We are currently growing many species of sps corals, mushrooms, etc. The Foundation is building a genetic bank in Idaho with collections from around the World. We specialize in reef janitors, and have shared this research with many people who need to control algae in land-based live rock aquaculture tanks.
