What kinds of BROOD STOCK coral do you sell at GARF, what are the prices, and how are they shipped?

Here at GARF we grow out and propagate over 150 types of soft and sps corals. We hear from customers on a daily basis that finding the corals we carry on the internet is next to impossible. Since the corals we sell are captive grown, different species are ready for harvest each week. This article will briefly discuss what corals we have most of the time and some of the others that we carry periodically.

We have found that captive raised corals have a much higher survial rate then wild caught organisms. Captive corals are accustomed to handling so they ship much better, they are adapted to the aquarium system, and they tend to withstand diseases and environmental fluctuations better. The sps corals we send out range in size from 1/2 in. to 1 1/2 in. They include a small sample of gel for gluing the sps frags, but it is recommended that you purcase a full size tube of reef gel ($18.00 each with no shipping!). All of our soft corals come on an aragrocrete plug made here at GARF. These plugs are about the size of a shot glass and the coral colony covers the top surface. These soft corals will arrive in a styrofoam ring floating upside down. All of our corals are shipped in sanitary water and are double bagged with oxygen.

Remember, our corals are not huge, but they were not taken from the wild and we have also found that smaller cuttings ship much better. THESE CORALS GROW VERY FAST!

Most customers do not mind the size, in fact watching the corals grow and develop is half of the fun. If you are interested in propagating your own corals using some of the methods researched by GARF, we do sell the Aragrocrete plugs for $.25 each. Here is a list of common and uncommon soft and small polys stony corals raised and sold here at GARF.
